update

I don't want to turn this blog into a cancer blog. I thought about it. I think in 2015 I want to do more writing (since I have the time) about past places I have visited, and hopefully about places I am going to travel to in 2015. And probably some of my crafty art projects.

But from time to time, I will give a quick update and label the post "cancer." If you want to know more, leave a comment!

Basically, I have had 4 chemo treatments since November 3rd. Every other Monday. One thing I learned fast is that chemo is different for everyone! I was a nervous wreck the first time, they had to give me something to knock me out. But I didn't suffer any side effects the first time, that I can remember.

After the second treatment I needed a blood tranfusion because my red blood call count was so low.

After the third treatment I ended up in the ER with an exploding headache. They gave me fun drugs and an MRI to make sure cancer hadn't spread to my brain. All clear. The headache lasted a week, until they discovered I had an ear infection. Problem solved. Chemo really hurts the immune system, so fingers crossed the infection doesn't come back. I have never had one, goodness they are painful.

This week was treatment 4, and I think it is safe to say I made it through the week without any major issues, just the common side effects: complete exhaustion, pins and needle feeling in hands and feet, etc.

Overall, I am feeling much better, and hoping it continues into 2015!
